SpletThe Maypole at Merry Mount is a short story from Nathaniel Hawthorne. It is very typical of Hawthorne, who used early Puritan New England in many of his settings. The story highlights the clash between freedom and individuality and the the strict Puritan beliefs. As a big fan of Hawthorne, I have to give this one five stars.
